Snapity is a mobile application that helps users capture photos of
event posters and automatically extract event information to create
calendar entries. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and
protect your information when you use our app.
Camera Access
- What we collect: Photos taken using the app’s
camera feature
- Why we collect it: To analyze poster images and
extract event information
- How we process it: Images are temporarily processed
and sent to our secure Firebase Functions, which forwards them to
OpenAI’s Vision API for text extraction
- What we collect: Event information extracted from
your photos (event names, dates, locations, descriptions)
- Why we collect it: To create calendar entries for
you
- How we use it: Information is used solely to
populate calendar event details
- Image Processing: Photos are analyzed to identify
and extract event information
- Calendar Integration: Extracted information is used
to create calendar entries on your device
- Service Improvement: We may analyze usage patterns
to improve the app’s functionality
Data Sharing
Third-Party Services
- Firebase Functions: Our secure server processes
images and forwards them to OpenAI (API keys never exposed to the
app)
- OpenAI API: Images are sent to OpenAI’s Vision API
through our Firebase Functions for text extraction and event information
processing
- Firebase Analytics: Helps us understand app usage

- Firebase Crashlytics: Collects crash reports to
help us identify and fix issues
- Firebase App Check: Ensures only legitimate app

- We do not store your photos permanently on our servers
- We do not access your calendar data beyond creating the specific
events you authorize
Data Storage and Security
Image Storage
- Temporary Processing: Images are temporarily
processed for text extraction
- No Permanent Storage: We do not store your photos
on our servers after processing
- Local Storage: Photos may be temporarily cached on
your device for processing purposes
Security Measures
- All data transmission is encrypted using industry-standard
protocols
- We implement appropriate security measures to protect against
unauthorized access
- API keys are securely stored server-side in Firebase Functions and
never exposed to the app
- Firebase App Check verifies that requests come from legitimate app
instances
- OpenAI API communications are secured through our Firebase Functions
proxy
Your Rights and Choices
Permissions
- Camera Permission: Required to capture photos of
event posters
- Calendar Permission: Required to create calendar
entries (when you choose to save events)
- Internet Permission: Required to process images
through our Firebase Functions service
Control Your Data
- You can revoke camera permissions at any time through your device
settings
- You can delete the app to remove all local data
- You can choose not to save events to your calendar
Children’s Privacy
Snapity is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We
do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If
you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with
personal information, please contact us so we can delete such
information.
Third-Party Services
OpenAI Services
This app uses OpenAI’s API services for image analysis and text
extraction. OpenAI’s privacy policy applies to data processed through

Firebase Services
This app uses several Firebase services provided by Google: -

Advertising Identifier
Firebase Analytics collects the advertising identifier (Advertising

This identifier is collected automatically by Firebase Analytics but
is used solely for analytics purposes. We do not use this identifier for
advertising or marketing purposes. You can reset or disable your

Data Retention
